Mr. BFG and I watched Courageous over the weekend. If you haven't seen it, it's really a great movie with a great message. And, I know you might be rolling your eyes right now, because I did too. I might love God, but usually movies with Christian themes are more than a wee bit cheesy. Whatevs. Judge away.
My lovely mother-in-law also gave both of us some devotional books based around the movie and I've been spending these last few weeks working on some of the themes it covers. Admittedly, the biggest hurdle has been being content with what I have and where I am in life. Not always easy when both your computers break, your dryer sounds like a dying hamster, your car is leaking oil and you can only eat soup because chewing anything makes you feel like you want to throw up (this is a recent development).
But, I do have the basics and then some. It ain't the Hilton. But it's home. Or whatever.
Anyway. I've been trying to accomplish this whole Be Content task by reminding myself that whatever I'm dealing with in the moment are totally First World Problems. Even the worst things are not all that bad comparatively, and so here is a list of thoughts I've had over the last week or so that fall into my First World Problems List.
1. I bought a new sweater (for super cheap) on Saturday. It was too hot to wear it yesterday.
2. My vacuum cleaner only sucks up half the crap on the floor and the head of my broom keeps coming unscrewed. This is incredibly annoying.
3. I accidentally poured Egg Nog creamer into my coffee cup instead of Raspberry Cream.
4. My bike seat still bruises my hoo-hah, this prevents me from doing things like trying on pants because moving my legs hurts too.
5. The Facebook app on my phone keeps crashing.
6. Our school district is facing a budget crisis. The kids may not get their normal amount of extra curricular/arts time.
7. I'm thinking that the registration fee for a race I wanted to be a part of is just too steep.
8. I've lost all of my email contacts and am now unable to send email at all.
9. Riley has a weird rash on the back of his leg and neck.
10. There is nothing to watch on my 557 channels, Netflix or my DVR. This means I'll probably have to use my ghetto vacuum and broom to clean my house. Or, go read on my ebook device.

I really can't wait to see that movie. I've heard over and over that it's a great movie.
FYI: My FB app crashes all the time also!
But at least the race is a charity race so you could count it towards your charitable giving for this year :)
HoJo
You can't chew? Your hoo-ha is bruised? Well, I can't think of much worse. Life is just sucky lately.
